If you have a piece of equipment that's seen better days or stopped working altogether, get in touch. I've successfully repaired many items, including effect pedals, rack effects, guitar electrics, analog synthesisers etc. Drop me an email or use the Contact form and I'll give you an idea of whether it's something I can help with.
Like everything I do, I want this service to be reasonably priced, so it's accessible and affordable.
The minimum charge is £30 + parts, which covers a damage assessment and repairs up to one hour. Each additional hour after that is £20.

- You are responsible for getting the item shipped to me and the cost of return shipping to get it back to you. I strongly suggest you send items fully insured.
- Most things can be fixed. However, there's no absolute guarantee. If they've been fried, they may simply be beyond help. If I can't get the parts, there's not much I can do either. However, I'll always do my best. You're paying for the time I spend trying to fix something.

Wasn't working properly - the speed control had no effect. I found some dry joints, so decided to resolder the whole thing. Works beautifully now.

Carlsbro Phase 2 pedal
Bought off eBay and arrived not working. The phase sweep only worked at higher settings- it stopped sweeping as it was slowed down. it was a dodgy Tantalum capacitor in the LFO section.

Carlsbro Flanger
Also bought off eBay and also arrived not working! There was an 'in a drainpipe' sound, which meant that the BBD chip was working (phew!) but no LFO sweep. There was a 'roll your own' optocoupler in the LFO section (an LED and an LDR coveredn in heatshrink) and exposing the LDR to light produced the sweep. I tracked it down to a faulty 741 op-amp.

Pearl PH-03 Phaser
Bought off eBay and arrived not working. Tracked the fault down to a dodgy 4069 hex inverter chip. This is comprised of six JFETs in an array and is used in a very clever way.

Korg FL01 flanger
Purchased on behalf of a customer. The footswitch was only working interrmittently. The footswitch was disassembled, the contacts were cleaned and connections resoldered. After that it worked perfectly.

Roland SRV-330 Space Reverb
Got this off eBay and about a year later it wouldn't start up properly. It would get so far in the bootup sequence and then restart. I tracked the fault down to the power supply. A diode in the bridge rectifier had failed, which is apparently not uncommon in the 330 series.
This is a very underrated reverb. Where Lexicon does dark and dense, this does airy and sizzle really well. Well worth having. I got mine for £75!

Deltalab DL-4 digital delay
I bought a pair of these off eBay, not working. One was just a shorted Tantalum capacitor in the power supply. The other one had a failed IC in the logic pcb and was an utter nightmatre to fault-find wthout any schematics available!The Deltalab delays use delta-sigma conversion and IMHO have a more organic sound. This does some lovely flanging too.

Drawmer DS-201 dual noise gate
Drawmer DS-201 gate bought off eBay not working. From the description of the fault I suspected it was just a dodgy switch. In fact, it was just a bad solder joint on the switch. This was from Core studios in Glasgow and just possibly may have had Teenage Fanclub going through its circuits at some point.
Lexicon Reflex digital reverb
My trusty Reflex started making a weird, cyclical 'breathing' sound after many years of service. It was due to one or more of the DRAM chips failing. It would seem that a lot of Lexicon reverbs from the 80s and 90s suffer from this fault. So, f your Alex or Reflex does this, don't despair! I have a load of those DRAM chips in the stash and can either supply them or fix it for you!
I love the older Lexicon reverbs. I also have the Alex and LXP-1 (my one came from Budgie of the Banshees' studio!) I still haven't found any plugins that sound as good.
