Another one finished today is the KILL! KILL!! Bet you can't guess what it does.
It's a two-way kill switch in gold hammerite finish. The synth channel is stereo. In the off position, both channels are grounded by a 100k ohm resister for silent switching. Completed today and ready to ship, this four-way starve unit replicates the sound of a dying battery, without the inconvenience of, well, a dying battery. In a rather fetching lime green matt finish, it looks lovely.
The customer chose the name. I guess it's inevitable at some point, but I really wasn't prepared for the price hike of the metal box enclosures I use. When I went to order some of the larger boxes a couple of days ago the price had increased by 33%. YIKES!
I'm sorry to report that due to some completely over-the-top new health & safety rules, I'm no longer allowed to ship pedals with a battery fitted.
Despite the fact that I use standard PP3 alkaline batteries, which are completely safe, for some reason known only to themselves, Royal Mail have decided that they pose a risk if posted. A risk of what, I don't know... You're only allowed to send alkaline batteries sealed in their original packaging. As I buy mine in bulk in order to get a good price, that's just not possible. So unfortunately, the pedals will be shipped without a battery from now on. I'm really sorry to have to do this, but it's outside of my control. |
